Professor Stojilovic earned his Ph.D. from the University of Akron, investigating interaction between zirconium surfaces and simple gases, under ultra-high vacuum conditions. He received Bachelor of Science in Theoretical Physics from University of Belgrade, Serbia. Before joining UW Oshkosh in 2009, Professor Stojilovic worked as a Visiting Assistant Professor at John Carroll University in Cleveland between 2007 and 2009, and as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at Columbia University in New York, from 2005 to 2007.
Professor Stojilovic currently works on electrospun metal-oxide nanofibers. In particular, he is interested in composite metal-oxide nanofibers like titania-alumina, titania-zinc oxide, titania-ceria nanofibers. His group uses XRD, SEM, BET, Uv-vis and Raman methods to investigate properties of nanofibers.
Professor Stojilovic investigates how frequent informal tests and testing effect can be used to enhance learning physics. He also studies how research-like activities can be incorporated into teaching labs to help students develop data plotting and scientific thinking skills.
